The crib was painted with Rustoleum's Painter's Touch spray paint in aqua. The crib sheet is from Serena & Lily and I found the crib skirt on Kijiji. The art above the crib is a DIY project.
I lengthened an existing pair of curtains by adding new fabric panels and added ORB handles to the window. The basket, which holds baby's growing collection of books and toys, was a HomeSense find.
Adam had this mirror when we started dating, the lambskin was a shower gift and I purchased the chair from Wire Home Furnishings. Adam installed a dimmer switch and replaced the old outlet with a new, bright white one - small changes that make a big difference.
I installed these floating shelves from Home Depot myself and filled them with both new and sentimental items. The numbers print is from Penny Paper Co. and the giraffe art is from The Paper Nut on Etsy.
We maximized the storage space in this tiny closet by adding some inexpensive shelving and then had some fun with a potato stamp project.
The changing table was a hand-me-down that I painted and the alphabet wall decal is from DeSerres.
Oh, and just for fun, here's what the room looked like before we started:

Just lovely! A nice calming retreat for mommy and baby :)
ReplyDeleteI love it. The green and blue paired together is simply perfect. And, of course, it will be even more perfect when the little one arrives to fill it! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous space to bring a baby home to! It's so lovely, well done.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! And I love how organized the closet is :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks very fresh and sweet! Congrats on your sweet baby coming soon. Quick question? How did spray painting the crib go? I'm really thinking about doing it with our old crib for our new baby we are expecting in October.
ReplyDeleteI have the same rocker and it's an excellent feeding chair
ReplyDeleteWow it really looks gorgeous. Pretty and serene - ready for baby!!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of the crib,
ReplyDeleteSimple ,cosy and beautifull ,this room really shows your personality.
Now we just have to waite to see the baby ;)

Oh gosh, it looks so beautiful now! You did such an amazing job and made it look amazing while being so thrifty. I love the painted furniture and the modern rocker is perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so sweet in there! I love your colour scheme and the way you pulled everything together. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that!
ReplyDeleteIt was really easy - we used Rustoleum's ultra cover primer first and then a few light coats of the colour. It was MUCH easier than painting all those spindles and the finish is holding up really well - at least it survived all the banging around while we were putting it together haha.
ReplyDeleteDynamite room! Love your colours, and love your custom curtain panels. This reminds me of why I want to learn to sew, and must get on that right away!
ReplyDeleteOh Ameila - it looks so sweet! I love it! :) My favourite are those adorable shelves! Great work - what a lucky baby having such a great room to come home to! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Amelia! Seriously, such a great job. Little babe will just love it! I can't believe how cute all of those little clothes are hanging in the closet : ) How much longer do you have? Only a few weeks, right?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Michelle! Only 3 more weeks to go, which is just crazy to me - I can't believe how quickly the time flies by!
ReplyDeleteAdorable, what a lucky little baby. Where did you find the little white elephant and the globe?? love them!
ReplyDeleteI found the elephant at HomeSense (I think it's HomeGoods in America) and the globe is from a local antique/thrift store - The Urban Cottage in Halifax!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!!! You did an amazing job :-)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I missed this! It turned out just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI just started spray painting my sons crib with the same paint and color. Good to know yours turned out well!! I'm excited by it do far.
ReplyDeleteLove your nursery, so adorable. I have a question about your Eames rocker though, since I plan to get one for my nursery: Is it comfortable to nurse in or is it really more for just sitting? I've heard such mixed reviews.
ReplyDeleteI honestly have only used it for nursing maybe once. Since we brought Hannah home, I've always nursed her either downstairs on the couch or in our bed (which is really great now that I've learned to nurse laying down). The one time I nursed her in the rocker I didn't find it that comfortable (mostly because Hannah is now big enough that her feet bump into the side of the rocker and it seemed to distract her). I would say the one downside to the rocker is that it doesn't have a headrest, so you would probably get tired sitting in it for a long time (especially if you're on the taller side). In the beginning, each nursing session can take awhile, so I much preferred to be propped up with lots of pillows in either our bed or on the couch. It totally depends on your preference, but something to think about! And please don't hesitate to shoot me an email if you have any other questions :)
ReplyDeleteYeah I definitely think there will be a learning curve so I see myself sitting on our nice comfy couch most of the time and then I'll just have to see first hand what the rocker's like. Thanks for the advice, I just may take you up on that :)
